As a church, we desire to help you succeed in your parenting journey. For this reason, we have prepared the information below to assist you in understand what Child Dedication is all about.
What is Child Dedication?
Dedicating our children to the Lord is an important commitment we make before God. It is through Child Dedication that parents make this declaration and publicly proclaim their faith in Christ and their commitment to pass their faith on to their children. We do not baptize our infants, instead we dedicate them to the Lord until they have made their personal commitment to follow Christ and decide to be baptized.
Why should I dedicate my child?
At North Central we believe Child Dedications are,
- An opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child.
- An opportunity to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home.
- An opportunity for parents to commit themselves to abide by Biblical principles and to raise their children according to God’s standards. Not only do dedicate your child to God, you also dedicate yourselves, as parents, to Christ and the church.

When can I dedicate my child?
On the 5th Sunday of the month, we have Celebration Sunday between the 9am and 11:15am services, where we dedicate our children. We understand that not all children will be infants when they are dedicated, so we welcome all ages. Following the dedication service we provide a space to take pictures as a family and receive a gift for your child, from the church.
