MISSIONS 2024 OVERVIEW

___________

the canaan Project

Partnering with the REAP Network (Roever Evangelistic Assistance Program), we are helping to create a Discipleship Training Center that is unlike anything else in Vietnam. It will train and educate pastors and Christian leaders who will not only reach the nation of Vietnam but the neighboring countries of Laos, Cambodia, and China as well. We're calling it, The Canaan Project.

Canaan will be a multifaceted community. It will provide housing for those traveling to attend Discipleship Training, a Bible School that will educate them in the Word of God so that they preach with confidence, a Worship Center, and a self-sustaining Coffee Bean Farm that will employ local farmers…providing yet another opportunity for sharing the gospel right in the heart of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Our goal is to raise $45,000 which will build two of the many buildings needed for this project. Even the smallest donation makes a big difference.

With your help, we can reach Southeast Asia for Christ!

Why Vietnam?

Vietnam is a Socialist Republic. The Vietnamese majority, who mainly live in the country’s major cities, comprise approximately 85 percent of the population and remains a stronghold of communist ideology. The rest of the population is made up of ethnic minorities who live in the northern part of the country, where Christianity has taken root and continues to grow. They face increasing persecution from government authorities.

             100 MILLION PEOPLE CONSIDER
      THEMSELVES A CHRISTIAN.*

The government retains tight control over all registered churches. Registered churches are prohibited from meeting in smaller groups: no Sunday school classes for children or adults, no youth groups or other gatherings apart from congregational worship. The police monitor sermons to ensure nothing is said against communism. The Communist Party, which maintains authority over all state policy and activity, has ordered government officials to closely monitor and crack down on the unregistered house churches that continually form and grow.

According to a Human Rights Watch report, “Highland people accused of religious ‘evil ways’ and politically ‘autonomous thoughts’ have been subjected to intimidation, arbitrary arrests, and mistreatment in custody.”
By creating this community in the heart of Vietnam, The Canaan Project not only provides a place of worship and support for the Christians in the community, but also provides training and discipleship needed to bring the gospel beyond the borders of Vietnam and into all of Southeast Asia. With your help, we can make a big difference for Christ.
