And now what are you waiting for?

Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.

Acts 22:16

We have prepared some information below to assist you in better understanding what Water Baptism is all about.

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.

Acts 22:16

We have prepared some information below to assist you in better understanding what Water Baptism is all about.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is outward expression of an inward change.

It's a public declaration of how Jesus changed your life. Being baptized is an announcement to others that you have decided to follow Jesus, and we encourage you if you are serving Christ and have never been baptized to sign up!

Why Should I Be Baptized?

We believe we should be baptized in obedience to Christ's command to go make disciples and baptize them in the name of Jesus.

We also believe we should be baptized to demonstrate the change and commitment of Christ in our lives.

When Can I Be Baptized?

North Central Church offers the opportunity of Water Baptism during our Celebration Sunday.

This is typically the 5th Sunday of the month between the 9am and 11:30am services. If you have recently made the commitment to follow Christ or have never been baptized, we would encourage you to sign up.

What can I expect?  Do I need to bring anything?

Once you sign up, you'll receive an email with all the details.

On the Sunday before Celebration Sunday, we'll have an important meeting at 10:30am in the Auditorium (between the 9am and 11:30am Service) for all those wanting to be baptized. Pastor Larry will go over all the details as well as what we believe and what to expect. You'll also receive a special t-shirt that you can wear when you're baptized. If you choose to wear something else, then please remember to wear dark clothing. Also, be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Can my kids get baptized?

Yes, of course! We encourage kids to take this next step in their walk with Jesus.

We feel they are ready once you are certain your child has made a decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus and understand what baptism is all about. We advise parents to wait until their child is asking to be baptized. This is usually a good indication that they are ready and that it will be a spiritual milestone in their life. While younger children under the age of seven can have a relationship with Jesus, they will not necessarily remember or understand the significance of the event, so we encourage parents to wait for baptism until they are a little older.
